La Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec appartient à un groupement de 14 coopératives membres des communautés inuites situées au Nunavik. La FCNQ a été fondée en 1967 afin de fournir au mouvement coopératif en rapide croissance les pouvoirs et services nécessaires pour atteindre son but «Atautsikut » Ensemble — travailler pour l'essor collectif sans que personne ne soit oublié.
 
Store Services Coordinator
 
Summary
 
Under the supervision of the Manager, you will be responsible to train and coach the Co-op Store Managers and the Co-op Grocery Managers, so that they can achieve an efficient operation of the store. In addition to teaching them how to perform essential tasks, you will also guide the Store Manager on how to develop and implement all store management procedures.
 
Responsabilities
 
  • Train the Manager and support the co-op; 
  • Train the co-op managers how to use the tools that are in place in the store (Quasar, scanners, POS terminals, etc.); 
  • Teach about product marketing, including the posting of promotional notices and determining how and where products can be displayed on the shelves and racks to maximize sales and increase store revenue; 
  • Work with the Store Manager to establish and implement store management procedures (min/max, layouts, shelf positioning, etc.); 
  • Advise Buyers about products that will be good sellers in the community; 
  • Assist Store Managers to ensure that weekly, sealift and chartered orders are processed efficiently and on time; 
  • Assist in the reception of goods during the Sealift operations; 
  • Upon request, work with the accounting team to assist in making cycle counts and yearly physical inventories and to attend the yearly budgets presentations to the co-ops; 
  • Upon request, assist in the preparation and revision of training materials; 
  • Ensure that all merchandise is stored and organized that is arriving by plane or boat, in the correct manner; 
  • Aide in the replenishment of products to the shelves, along side with the store team; 
  • Ensure all products are displayed and price correctly in the store; 
  • Ensure inventory quantities of items is correct and maintained throughout the year; 
  • Aide in customer requests for merchandise, along side with the store manager; 
  • Analyse item sales and adjust system accordingly for ordering purposes; 
  • Guide and practice, Mapac and basic safety in the workplace; 
  • Any other related tasks requested by the immediate superior or to support the co-ops and the other departments. 
 
Requirements
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience, College diploma (an asset); 
  • Possess 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role; 
  • Management experience (an asset); 
  • Good knowledge of marketing procedures; 
  • Able to communicate both verbally and written in 2 of the following languages: Inuktitut, French or English; 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and be a team player. 
 
Work Conditions
 
  • Willing to travel to the Nunavik for extended periods of time; 
  • On call when not travelling in Nunavik.
